My fondest memory of my grandmother, was when I was a young teen and we sat in her kitchen, drank coffee, smoked cigarettes and talked about anything at all. Not too many teens can do that today. I was never afraid to express myself to her. She got me through some very tough times. Makes me smile today when I think of it all.

My grandmother saved my life. She was my rock my strength and my salvation. She taught me jesus, not like the nuns, where we were punished for everything and Jesus was our prison guard. No..she taught me the love, forgiveness and compassion of jesus. I learned early on what true love was from her and her depiction of Jesus and I hold fast to that teaching till today. She volunteered in church, a church lady, helped the sick and worked with people with disabilities. She was always giving funds to St Jude's Hospital and missions all over the world. Helping people was her thing. I guess since she never got to be the nurse she trained to be, she helped others in the ways she could. A great lesson she taught and I adore her for it!

Jane was the most sincere,loyal , loving and humorous person I will ever know. She gave up a career as a nurse to marry the only man she ever loved, Thomas A. Cuti. Jane was a proficient writer and storyteller, although the world never got to see her works. She loved unconditionally and never judged a person unduly. Her greatest attribute was the ability to laugh at herself and put her family first above all else, even herself. Her most famous saying was," always put the children first". I was raised by this magnificent woman and will always keep her close to me by accomplishing the things I know she would have wanted. I loved her more than life and the world lost a superb human being who would have made a huge difference in this world if she would have followed her dreams. Her legacy lives on in her unbelievable meatballs and spaghetti sauce and her stories shall be told by me! She had 2 children, a daughter, Veronica Gail and a son, Thomas A. II, #3 grandchildren, #7 great-grandchildren and #3 great-great grandchildren. I thank God for her phenomenal faith in Jesus and for teaching me strength, courage and the "never-give -up" attitude she lived by. She believed with all her heart that God will see you through and that good prevails. I will see her one day so I hope she likes this bit here!ADVERTISEMENT BYLooking for more information?

My grandmother, Nan, was the one who raised me as a small child. We lived with her and my grandfather,Gramps while my single mother worked hard and went to school at night. General Hospital had just begun on TV and my Nan, a frustrated nurse, loved the show. We would sit together on the couch watching and eating our 3pm snack. being a small child and very active, I would get bored and get into trouble, so Nan would get the TV tray on wheels, line it with a towel and have me get a stuffed animal or a doll as our "patient". While she was watching her show, I would be "saving a life" on our makeshift gurney..wheeling the patient from room to room and then "operating" or "giving the patient meds or a needle" to make better.
Very smart idea as she still watched her show and I was busy not getting into trouble.
Another trick while she watched her show was to line up the chairs away from the TV and pretend we were going on a train ride...we would line up the toys on the chairs and I would be the conductor taking their tickets and saying" All Aboard".
Last but not least, was my famous naptime...3pm.... monday thru friday, just in time for her to relax and watch General Hospital. Pretty darn creative I'd say!
I do believe all that creativity made me the creative person I am and gave me the foundations for my writing, imagination! Thank you Nan!
