She had siblings Mary Ann Mcsweeney, Susan Frances McSweeney, and Alice Josephine McSweeney Keleher. She married William Ascension Connell in 1888, and had children Joseph Bernard Connell, Leo Vincent Connell, Mary Gertrude Connell, Lucy Josephine Connell, and Francis Aloysius Connell. Jane Connell died at age 79 years old on September 2, 1941 in Thornbury, City of Darebin County.
