Jay William Trusley 1921 - 2008

Jay William Trusley of Dayton, Rhea County, TN was born on October 30, 1921. He was married to Jimmie Isabelle (Dunn) Doss and they later divorced. He had children Jay Harold Trusley, JoAnn Trusley, Bobby Newell Trusley, Jewel Trusley Ashburn, and Thomas Lee Trusley. Jay Trusley died at age 87 years old on November 28, 2008, and was buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery Section DD-3 Site 103 Bailey Avenue, in Chattanooga.

In 1921, in the year that Jay William Trusley was born, on November 11th, the first burial was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The body of an unknown soldier - selected by Army Sgt. Edward F. Younger who was highly decorated for valor and received the Distinguished Service Cross in "The Great War" - was brought back from France (World War 1) and placed in the newly completed tomb. President Warren G. Harding officiated at the interment ceremonies.
