    Anchorage Daily News, June 10, 1973 Jeanette Mumford, an Alaskan for more than half a century, died Saturday at Providence Hospital; at the age of 74. She and her husband, George, were both longtime executives at the National Bank of Alaska and owners of the Mumford Apartments at 135 Christensen Drive. Funeral services will be at 2pm Monday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Donald R. Kruse of the Lutheran Church of Hope will officiate; burial will be in Angelus Memorial Park. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Charlotte) Simpson of Anchorage; a son, George F. Mumford Jr., of Castro Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren, Jeanette Mumford of Phoenix, Stephanie Mumford of Denver, and Lewis (Sandy), Scott, Stacy and Steven Simpson, all of Anchorage; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Keller of Port Angeles, Wash., and Mrs. Esther Irvine of Pasadena, Texas; a niece, Mrs. Patrick (Irene) Ryan (see below), who is state commissioner of Economic Development in Alaska, and a nephew, Pat Irvine of Anchorage. Memorials may be made to the Alaska Crippled Children Association, Pioneers of Alaska Auxiliary No. 4, or the Order of the Eastern Star.
