Ruth Johnson
Ruth died young, 23 yrs and 11 months She died of septicemia. Girard later committed suicide at the age of 47. Ruth and Girard were married young. She was 17 and he was 19. They had one daughter named Jeanne Schierbaum. There is not much I can find out about Ruth. She had a sister named Marguerite. At 18 Girard took a trip by ship, around the world. He was gone 7.5 months with his school trip. His father, J Daniel Schierbaum, Merle Schierbaum, and his grandmother, Florence Mclain, drove from St. Louis to New York City to pick up "the boy" from his travels. It was a grand trip but all Girard wanted to do was get home to his "Ruth". It appears they may have married later that year.
