    TARDIFF DR. JEFFREY G., died at his home on Thursday afternoon, December 16, following a prolonged illness consequent to Environmental/Chemical poisoning. The son of the late George Emil Tardiff and Grace Tardiff, Dr. Tardiff was born in Queens, New York and received his early education in Wayne, New Jersey. He was a graduate of St. Michael's College, Winooski, Vermont, and received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C. Following intermship in California and residency in infernal and emergency medicine at Jackson-Memorial Hospital. He entered private practice in Miami. Dr. Tardiff was an avid sailor who maintained his private practice in his Biscayne Bayfront home in order to be near the water and have every possible opportunity to sail. He particularly enjoyed competitive sailing. A member of the Miami Yacht Club, he was a supporter of Tornado Class Sailing competition and was a trainer for Olympic class sailors. Dr. Tardiff was a member of the Department of Family Practice of Mercy Hospital and a member of a large number of South Florida and National Medical Professional Associations. Dr. Tardiff, who was well known for the precision of his medical diagnoses and the sense of intellectual thrift with which he approached particularly difficult cases, was among the first South Florida Physicians to begin to treat large numbers of HIV Positive and AIDS patients. He dedicated himself to these patients with a special interest and frequently treated patients at no cost, as a result o his sense of personal commitment. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister Marybeth (Tardiff) Pearson, brother George Tardiff, Ph.D. of Livermore, California, nephew Jeffrey Pearson, niece Jillian Smith, and many close friends and professional associates. The family had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dr. Tardiff's name, to the Maryknoll Missionary Fathers, Maryknoll, New York, for overseas medical programs and services. A Memorial Service and Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at St. Kiernan's Catholic Church, 3605 South Miami Avenue (Near Mercy Hospital) Saturday evening, December 18, at 8:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. - The Miami Herald (Miami, Florida) Saturday, December 18, 1993 on page 40.
