Janet McKinnon Hughes was born in 1918 in Motherwell, New Stevenston, Scotland. She was known as Jenny. Her parents were William Matthew Hughes and Christine McKinnon. Jenny married Peter Gillespie on September 1st, 1939. Their daughter Christina Hughes Gillespie was born on March 6th, 1939. (Not a typo) Their daughter Janet Hughes Gillespie was born in Girvan, Ayrshire, Scotland on May 26th, 1944. On the 6th of March 1951 the family arrived in Australia on the ship Asturias. Jenny and Peter were housed in Unanderra, NSW, on the Princes Highway. Later, they moved to Barkly St, St Kilda, VIC. They then lived at 4/11 Bluff Ave, St Kilda. Finally, they lived with their daughter Christina and son-in-law Brian in Bonbeach, VIC. Jenny died at 65 years old. She was my beloved Nana.
