    Jerome Albin Holter was born on March 10th, 1910 in Traill, North Dakota, to Fred Holter (1882 - 1956) and Jennie Marie Holman (1884 - 1947). His father was born in Iowa and his mother was born in Norway. He was survived by a sister, Jordis and was predeceased by a sister, Lucille, and a brother, Norine. Jerome A. Holter married Esther Jeannette Rosholt (1906 - 2009) on November 25th, 1933 in Hatton, North Dakota. They had nine children: seven sons, Gordon, Phoenix, David, Paul "Rick", Neal, Carl, and Michael; and two daughters: Marilyn and Janice. Jerome died at the age of 91 on February 16th, 2002 in North Dakota. He is buried in Saint Johns Cemetery in Traill County, North Dakota. See Jerome A Holter: Obituary.

    Jerome A. Holter, 91, Hatton, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Union Hospital, Mayville, N.D. Jerome Albin Holter was born March 10, 1910, the son of Fred and Jennie (Holman) Holter, in Hatton, where he attended school. He worked at the Hatton Creamery and for several farmers in the area. He married Esther Rosholt Stoa on Nov. 25, 1933. He started farming on his own in 1944. They spent winters in Tampa, Fla. He is survived by his wife; children, Marilyn Stoa (John) Harms, Bristow, Iowa, Gordon (Jackie) Stoa, Phoenix, Janice Grotte, David (Dawn) Holter, Paul (Rick) (Gayle) Holter, all of Hatton, Neal (Carol) Holter, Park Rapids, Minn., Carl (Jan) Holter, Waukesha, Wis., and Michael (Cyndy) Holter, Plano, Texas; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Jordis (Darrell) Dahl, Tampa. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lt. Col. Richard Grotte; a great-grandchild; a brother, Norine; and a sister, Lucille (Richard) Windmueller. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, Tri-County Nursing Home Chapel. Burial: St. John Cemetery (Bilden, Hatton). Grand Forks Herald (North Dakota) February 19, 2002.
