Jerry Wade Trigg Jr of Gainesville, Cooke County, TX was born on August 8, 1960 in Dallas, Dallas County to Jerry Wade Trigg Sr and Treva Ione (Richardson) Trigg. He had siblings Lisa Jayne Trigg, Judith Faye (Trigg), and Wendell Richardson Trigg. Jerry was baptized in 1970 at First Baptist Church in Cedar Hill. He married Delania B. (Raney) Trigg on January 6, 1990 in Montague County, TX. They had children Trevor Trigg and Kirsten Trigg. He also married Debra Kay Ramsey and they later divorced. They had children Jerry Wade Trigg III and Lisa Elaine Trigg. Jerry Trigg died at age 56 years old on August 19, 2016 in Gainesville, Cooke County, TX.

    Jerry’a father, Jerry W Trigg Sr was born in Louisiana, and his mother, Treva Ione Richardson Trigg was born in Prairie Point, TX. Treva’s family is Irish and English and migrated to Texas to escape the American civil war. We know less about Jerry Sr family who is descended from English immigrants and possibly remote Scandinavian heritage.

With his first wife, Debra Ramsey, he live in Hot Springs AR for a few years and had two children, Jerry W Trigg III and Lisa Elaine Trigg, during that union and was proud of his stepson Michael Ramsey. He later moved to Cooke Co, Texas where he lived in Prairie Point and met and married his second wife, Delania Raney and had two more children, Trevor and Kirsten Trigg as well as stepson Dylan Robertson. At the time of his death Jerry Jr lived in Gainesville TX.

    Cedar Hill High School, graduated Class of 1978. Jerry Jr attended Texas Women’s University and told me that he was 1-2 semesters from earning a bachelor’s degree when he left school to get job and support his young family. He’d intended to return and become a psychologist.

    Raised in a family that mostly attended Southern Baptist churches. By his decision, he was baptized in the Southern Baptist church as a child. As an adult he endorsed atheism.

    Jerry Jr followed in his beloved father’s footsteps when he joined and served in the USMC.

  • Professional Career

    Jerry Jr had many skills that he acquired on various jobs. As a youngster, he had paper routes and sold magazines. He worked as a technician in a microbiology laboratory. He had electrician and other handyman skills. My favorite of his skills was his knowledge of history, especially American and ancient history and his ability to have conversations with me about his philosophical thoughts about the many books he read and documentaries that he watched on television after he was disabled and unable to work. We had many conversations about these, especially the philosophical implications of the various Star Trek franchises. His habit was to watch these series in order, except for Voyager which he always started with the episode when Seven of Nine joined the crew. He thought Kes insipid and couldn’t abide her. He was an atheist as an adult but watched shows like Ancient Aliens and was so curious about the ambiguous historical evidence about this topic.

  • Personal Life & Family

    The highlight and pride of Jerry Jr’s life was his children. He was very proud of all of them and frequently spoke to me of their most recent achievements. He was constantly amazed by how bright and successful and good his children were.
