Jessie Agnes (Farmer) Farmer of Toorak Australia was born circa 1879 in Toorak, City of Stonnington County, VIC to William Thomas Farmer and Jessie Mcleod Farmer. She had siblings Annie Elizabeth Farmer, Alexander William Farmer, James Knight Farmer, Mary Alice Farmer, Charlotte Ellen Farmer, James Knight Farmer, Charlotte Ellen Farmer, and George Farmer. She married Ernest Sidney Faul Bolger in 1906, and had children Sidney Lionel Bolger and Ernest Clive Bolger. Jessie Farmer died at age 69 years old in 1948 in Toorak.

In 1879, in the year that Jessie Agnes Farmer was born, on October 22nd, Thomas Edison tested the first practical electric light bulb. Lasting 13½ hours before burning out, it used a "a carbon filament or strip coiled and connected to platina contact wires". He applied for a patent on November 4th, receiving the patent in January 1880.

In 1891, at the age of only 12 years old, Jessie was alive when on June 25th, in the July issue of The Strand Magazine in London, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character Sherlock Holmes appeared in a series of short stories for the first time.
