She married Leonard August Daz on October 13, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, and they were married until Leonard's death on June 2, 1986 in Salt Lake City. Jessie Daz died at age 83 years old on August 4, 1997 in Ogden, Weber County, and was buried on August 8, 1997 in South Ogden.

In 1914, in the year that Jessie Billie Daz was born, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers. Anna Jarvis had championed a Mother's Day for years but Congress had joked a few years earlier that then they would have to proclaim a "Mother-in-law's Day" as well. The President who championed a woman's right to vote also created a day in their honor.

In 1921, at the age of only 7 years old, Jessie was alive when hugely popular Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, silent film star, was arrested for rape and manslaughter after an actress died following a party at his house. He was acquitted after three trials and the jury wrote a formal letter apologizing for the charges, but his career never recovered. His films were at first banned - the ban was lifted after a year - and he was mostly ostracized by the community. He died at 46..
