    The following appeared in the Greenwood Commonwealth in Greenwood Mississippi on Friday August 1st 1997: Jim Walls - Services for Jim Walls, 77, of Greenwood, who died of a stroke on Monday, July 28, 1997, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Mr Walls had been employed ginning cotton. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Walls and Dorothy Gaston, both of Greenwood; five sons, Thomas Walls of Greenwood, Marion Walls of Dobson, N.C., Matthew Walls of Atlanta, Sylvester Walls of Columbus, Ga., and Bennie Walls, also of Columbus; one sister, Maggie Mae Richardson of Jackson; one brother, Charlie Weatherspoon of Greenwood; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Pleasant Green Cemetery in Carrol County. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Byas Mortuary.
