He married Donna Michelle (Denkhoff) Cooper on February 18, 1989, and they were married until Jimmy's death on September 22, 2018. He had children Heather Nichole Cooper and Richard Dakota (Cody) Cooper. Jimmy Cooper was buried circa September 25, 2018 at John L Clark Memorial Cemetery Jennings Creek Hwy, in Gainesboro, Jackson County.
