Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Joe

3rd Army WW2 veteran W4AMO: I worked with Bro. Joe Petty, AF&AM, and fellow ham operator W4AMO at Gaston County Electronics Systems from 1984 to 1991. Joe tried to be somewhat gruff but was in reality a very kind hearted gentleman. "How ya doin' Joe". "Barely living" would be the reply. He was a WW2 veteran having served in Patton's 3rd Army and one day showed his copy of the 3rd Army WW2 history. I asked him about what he thought of Gen. Patton. Joe replied "He was the meanest SOB in the world but we would have followed him to hell because we knew he'd bring us back alive". Joe faithfully looked after his ailing wife putting her above all else in his life. He was a good man, obviously a good husband, and an inspirational brother Mason. He was welcomed into the Grand Lodge Eternal in 2005. Well done Brother Petty. So mote it be.
