Billy Joe Mirick of Pine, Gila County, AZ was born on April 25, 1931 in Yukon, Canadian County, Oklahoma United States to Elmer Rubin Mirick and Connie J. Ramer. He married Sally June (Elms) Mirick on February 17, 1951 at Assembly of God Church in Buckeye, Maricopa County, Arizona, and had children Joseph Garland Mirick, Dorothy Victoria Mirick, and Maridee Lyn Mirick. Billy Mirick died at age 74 years old on March 12, 2006 in Sun City, Maricopa County, and was buried circa March 12, 2010 in Buckeye.

    After Joe's service in the Army, he drove dump truck in Calf. for a short time. He and his bride and son moved back to Buckeye AZ. He got started in his first of three different Gas/ service stations in Buckeye, the Richfield, Mobile, Sombrero Shell. His wife Sally had been very ill, and died in 1968. He then had 3 kids to raise on his own. He began to study and became an Independent Insurance Agent. The Mirick & Patterson Insurance Agency. He had also gotten the first franchise from the town of Buckeye to operate a garbage pick service. He later sold it for a good profit. He worked the Insurance business for many years, training several people during that time. Time to retire and enjoy life, He bought a Truck and Travel trailer and headed out to see the USA, this went on for a few years but old. He bought a small Home in Pine AZ and loved work on fixing it up to his liking. We would have to drive to Payson AZ to get parts at Ace Hardware, which he ended up buying and running for 10+ years. During this time he was the head of the main street coalition, set on the board of supervisors for Gila County. He bought another Home in Pine and sold the other. He was the driving force behind getting a full time Fire Dept. In Pine.
