Joe Aldy died at age 78 years old on June 15, 1969 in Jonesboro, Jackson Parish County, and was buried at Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Quitman.

    Joseph Wesley " Joe " Aldy was born to Isaac Benjamin "Dee" Aldy (1860 - 1939) and Nancy Elizabeth "Liza" Keen (1867 - 1929) and he had eleven siblings: Elmer, Hampton, Benjaman, Sarah "Sallie", Rosa, Mattie, Allie "Hallie", Robert, Lonnie, Pinkey and Noah. Joe Aldy married Jessie Rae Rider (1895 - 1975) in 1913 and they had eleven children: Joseph (1915 - 1982), Jim, Buddy, Lillian, Joseph "Joe" (1921 - 2008), Nellie, Lilly, Maudie, Nancy, Margie and one more son. On his April, 1942 World War II draft card, Joe described himself as being six feet tall and as weighing 160 pounds. He had brown eyes, black hair, and a "dark" complexion. Joe was survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
