Joe Wrinkle died at age 54 years old circa February 12, 1974 at Poplar bluff in Poplar Bluff, and was buried in February 1974 in Clarkton, Dunklin County.

In 1919, in the year that Joe Wrinkle was born, Indian lawyer Mahatma Gandhi initiated the Satyagraha campaigns, beginning the nonviolent resistance movement against British rule of India.
