John was one of my dear friends and colleagues at Capitol Magnetic Products, division of Capitol Records, Hollywood, CA, in the 1980's until they closed our division at the end of 1987. John introduced me to many food delicacies and fun places around Hollywood. Some of my fondest memories include going to Yamashiro Restaurant for Happy Hour at the top of the hill overlooking Hollywood and L.A. We would oftentimes see celebrities, such as Don Knotts, and John had a wealth of info from his tenure in the record business that he loved to share. Just a great guy, always told me to leave L.A. and never look back once he decided to pull up roots and head to the Virgin Islands. I recall he and Nancy were moving to St Thomas, but not 100% sure. He also secured my position with audiopak, the company formed by former Capitol execs after CMP was closed.... it was truly the best years of my life. John was always positive and happy-go-lucky, so sad to find his death notice just now. My heart goes out to his beloved wife and partner, Nancy. Classy, genuine people. RIP, John
