John Arthur Goodrich 1864 - 1929

John Arthur Goodrich was born circa 1864 in Fitzroy, City of Yarra County, VIC Australia to John Goodrich and Mary Ann (Buchanan) Goodrich, and had siblings Newton Goodrich, Emily Sophia (Goodrich) Morkham, Fanny Goodrich, Eliza (Goodrich) Terrill, Minnie (Goodrich) Corney, Elizabeth Goodrich, William Goodrich, and Frank Goodrich. They married Alice (Wright) Goodrich in 1890, and died at age 64 years old on April 10, 1929 in East Melbourne, Melbourne City County. John Goodrich was buried in April 1929 at Box Hill Cemetery 395 Middleborough Rd, in Box Hill, Whitehorse City County, Victoria.

It mandated that "In God We Trust" was to be placed on all United States coins and created a 2 cent coin. Later - in 1956 - "In God We Trust" replaced "E Pluribus Unum" - which means out of many, one - as the national motto.
