    Radio Personality and announcer on Chicago's Polish-Language Radio Station WOPA. He was also a Land developer. He developed Kennedy Shores TX in 1967(later named Kopernik Shores TX) and in 1968 he bought 1000 acres of that land which he partitioned into 5000 lots. In 2013 SpaceX purchased 60 undeveloped plots most of which were previously owned by John Caputa estate. He also owned a development Company called Laguna Madre Beach Corporation.

In 1911, in the year that John Caputa was born, British physicist Ernest Rutherford (born in New Zealand), along with German physicist Hans Geiger, discovered the structure of an atom. He found that atoms had nuclei (a nucleus) and were circled by electrons, much as planets orbit the sun.

In 1944, John was 33 years old when on June 6th, the largest amphibious invasion in history was launched - the Normandy landing (called D-Day). Soldiers from the United States, Britain, Canada, and the Free French landed on Normandy Beach and were later joined by Poland, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Greece, and the Netherlands. Almost 5,000 landing and assault craft, 289 escort vessels, and 277 minesweepers were involved. Nearly 160,000 troops crossed the English Channel on D-Day - Allied casualties on the first day were at least 10,000. 4,414 were confirmed dead.
