He was a kind man and encouraged many young Hawaiians on their careers
He was my uncle but I never met him. He had two brothers, (Thomas, my father) and Donald, and three sisters (twins Mary and Effie, plus Maisie). He grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, and went to the Big Island of Hawaii I think in the late 20s or early 30s. He worked for a sugar plantation as a manager and after living at Hilo moved to Papaaloa. As far as I know he didn’t marry or have children. He served in the US Army as a private during WW2. He is buried at the cemetery just north of Hilo. I was unable to find a headstone or marker of any kind.
