He had siblings Mary May Callow, William Thomas Callow, and Amy Elizabeth Couacaud. He married Florence Catherine Zephyr Ladyman in 1926, and had children Richard Keith Callow and Richard Callow. John Callow died at age 71 years old in 1965 in Bundalong, Moira Shire County.
