He married Mary Custin, and they had a child Virginia Strain. He also married Mary Custin on February 14. He and Mary Custin married on February 14. They had children Virginia Strain, Nancy Custin, Melissa Koppleman, John Custin, and Christopher Custin. John Custin died at age 81 years old on January 15, 1997.

My father was the best dad in the world. He was admired by his friends and neighbors. He was an active member of Holy Cross and layer if Immaculate Heart Churches.
He was a veteran of WW II and an avid tennis player. He was also a great musician and shared his talent at many civic functions.
My Dad never turned away a request and was generous to a fault. He appeared as a guest on the Steve Allen show!
