    JOHN "Tweety Bird" FICKEN, 78, of 368 S. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Washington County Hospital. Born March 30, 1927, in Pottsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Herman and Margaret Twila Leeser Ficken. He attended Pottsville High School. He retired from Mack Trucks. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville. He was a member of Hagerstown Suns Fan Club and VFW. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Evonne Ficken; one stepdaughter, Shannon Ridings of Campobello, S.C.; one brother, Robert Ficken of Hagerstown; and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Montgomery and Betty Bonheimer; and one brother, Herman Ficken. Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown; burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Herald Mail (Hagerstown, MD) December 20, 2005
