John Fulper 1784 - 1854

John Fulper of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania United States was born in 1784 to Michael Fulper. He married Mary (Price) Fulper in 1812, and they were married until Mary's death in 1845. John Fulper died at age 70 years old in 1854.

In 1819, by the time he was 35 years old, on January 25th, former President Thomas Jefferson founded the University of Virginia. Unsatisfied with his alma mater, William and Mary, which focused on religion and shorted science, Jefferson - along with former Presidents Monroe and Madison - created a university that had 8 schools: medicine, law, mathematics, chemistry, ancient languages, modern languages, natural philosophy, and moral philosophy.
Did you know?
In 1822, John was 38 years old when on May 26th, 116 people died in the Grue Church fire - the biggest fire disaster in Norway's history. On Pentecost, the church was packed and a fire broke out on the outer wall of the southern transept. Within 15 minutes, the whole church was on fire and it burned to the ground. Almost half of the dead were under 16 and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
