John married Emeline Frederick on January 29, 1867 in Henry County, Ohio. They had 3 children: Nora Jane Kigar Knapp, Daniel Kigar and Mary E. Kigar VanScoder. John died at the early age of 29 years, 5 months, 26 days. He was the son of Bennett Kigar Sr.
