    Command Sergeant Major John M. Glennon (Ret.) of Rye gently passed away on October 31 after a long battle with cancer. John was born on July 4, 1929 in Port Chester to Alexander and Catherine Glennon. John served in the United States Army for 30 years. During his military service he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Legion of Merit, the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Clusters and the Army Good Conduct Medal, among others. John is survived by his wife Catherine to whom he was married for 47 years, children Katie and Thomas, grandchildren Ryan and Michael, brothers William (Alyce) and Alexander, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Graham Funeral Home in Rye from 5 PM - 9 PM Tuesday November 2. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye Wednesday November 3 at 10 AM. Interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jansen Memorial Hospice, 69 Main Street, Tuckahoe, NY 10707.
