A wine cooper/wine merchant by trade in England - Emmigrated with wife & 2 children to Lyttelton New Zealand early 1875, his young son died en route - they went to search for gold. They left New Zealand and settled in NSW Australia, he had 3 daughters in NSW and then departed again for New Zealand where he died leaving wife and children in Australia.
