First wife and mother of his only son Chad M Jones
Dick was a great guy, we met when he was in the Navy just before he was mustered out of same. Fell in love and married shortly thereafter. Met on Friday 13. 1964 married June 13. 1964. Met on a blind date. Both of us were 21 when married and both were not ready to be married. I know we loved one another but as fate would have it. Capoots. I left him in San Diego, where he met up with a Bonnie???? moved in with her and had 2 girls. Was then transferred with the CHP, Santa Barbara, Ca and elsewhere. They had a long up and down marriage but it lasted until the day he died. Cannot say how I know anything from his past, from the time I left him in 1966. However I know more than I should. I find it funny.
He did make the rank of Sgt. John R. Jones of California Highway Patrol. He was a motorcycle officer part of this time.
I know his mother died of Cancer, because of my son, would like to know his cause of death. Way too young to go. His last duty station was in Napa, Calif. Ironically that was my home town. Strange how the paths you take, you will cross one another and never know it. Before his last duty he was with the Patrol out of Fairfield, Calif.
I needed to write this. I loved him very much.
