John Stinnett of Marion, Crittenden County, Arkansas United States was born on May 25, 1873 in Eagle Pass, Maverick County, TX to Benjamin Stinnett and Nancy Lee (Thursday) Jefferson. He had siblings William Stinnett, Mary Anna Stinnett, Thomas Lee Stinnett, Richard George Stinnett, and Marion Stinnett. He married Elizabeth Coker, and died at age 63 years old on April 27, 1937 in Salina, Saline County, KS. John Stinnett was buried at Gypsum Hill Cemetery 2020 E Iron Ave, in Salina.

    John Stinnett and his family moved from Webb City, MO to Salina, KS around 1924. His obituary says he was born in Eagle Pass, TX but there are other records that indicate he was born in Arkansas. He was survived by his widow Elizabeth [Coker] Stinnett and four children - Arthur Stinnett, George Stinnett, Tex Stinnett and Mrs. Walsie Fickes - a brother, Dick Stinnett, and seven grandchildren, all of Salina.
