John Thomas Touzeau of Melbourne, VIC Australia was born in 1863 in Collingwood, City of Yarra County to James Touzeau and Eliza Smeardon Stanbury Touzeau. He had siblings Eliza Ann Touzeau Peters, Mary Jane Touzeou Bott, Martha Amy Touzean, Amelia Touzeau, William Stephen Touzeau, and James Henry Touzeau. He married Judith Sebire Touzeau, and had a child Henry Touzeau. John Touzeau died at age 52 years old on November 13, 1916 in Melbourne.

In 1888, when he was 25 years old, on January 12th, the 'Schoolhouse Blizzard' blanketed Dakota Territory. Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas were hit, leaving 235 dead. Many of those who perished were children on their way home from school. The day was relatively warm when it began and the blizzard hit unexpectedly, catching most by surprise.
