John Thomas was my Great Uncle, He was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. His Father John Vowles was a journey Blacksmith who was born in Chew Magna, near to Bristol, Somerset. He settled in Barnsley and married a local Girl. The marriage produced 5 Girls and 1 boy, this being John Thomas. I have just started to research John Thomas. I know there is a memorial to him and several other young Men who worked for a local Glass works prior to World War 1. This is now in Barnsley Town Hall, South Yorkshire. Im looking for his death plaque and any possible photographs.ADVERTISEMENT BYLooking for more information?
