He was married to Lois (Sprengel) Robinson circa 1952 in Johnstown, Cambria County, PA, and they were together until John's death on January 20, 2007 at Geisinger Holy Spirit 503 N. 21st St., in Camp Hill, Cumberland County. He had children Alan Bernard Robinson and Jan Louise McCullah. John Robinson was buried on January 26, 2007 at Richland Cemetery 1257 Scalp Ave., in Johnstown, Cambria County.

    John W. Robinson,87,of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Johnstown,passed away Saturday,January 20,2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born July 11,1919 in Bolivar,PA he was the son of the late Francis E. and Rebecca Hammond Robinson. John retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1981 after 40 years of delicate service. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving with the 602nd Anti Aircraft Battalion in Europe during the Battle of Normandy. During his service to our country,John received 4 Bronze Stars for his actions. He was a graduate of Bolivar High School Class of 1937,a member of First United Methodist Church,Mechanicsburg and a former member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church,Johnstown. John was a jovial person who enjoyed telling stories,watching westerns,completing the Jumbo puzzles every day and watching football. He was a wonderful husband,father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all. John was preceded in death by his brother,Richard Robinson,his sister Bette Morris and by his twin sister Anna Brett Brown. Surviving are his wife Lois Sprengel Robinson,a son Alan B. Robinson and his wife Nancy of Mechanicsburg,a daughter Jan L. and her husband Ronald McCullah of North Ft. Myers,FL and 3 grandchildren: Daniel,Rebecca and James Robinson. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with viewing held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the church. Entombment will be in Richland Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Malpezzi Funeral Home,Mechanicsburg is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers,contributions may be made to St. Calvary Lutheran Church,1000 Scalp Ave.,Johnstown,PA 15904.
