John Tripcony married Florence Annie (Marchment) Tripcony in 1936, and died at age 95 years old on February 26, 1996 in Swan Hill, Swan Hill Rural City County.

The Boxer Rebellion took place in China, where the presence of "outsiders" (foreigners) was resented.
