John Willis Crennan of Parkville, City of Melbourne County, VIC Australia was born on July 17, 1911 in Northcote, City of Darebin County to John Matthew Crennan and Susan Bernadette Luchinovich Crennan. He had siblings George Michael Crennan, Edward James Crennan, Thomas Philip Crennan, and George Anthony Crennan. He married Mary Ellen Phelan in 1936, and had a child Mary Therese Crennan. John Crennan died at age 68 years old on May 31, 1980 in Parkville, City of Melbourne County.

In 1911, in the year that John Willis Crennan was born, British physicist Ernest Rutherford (born in New Zealand), along with German physicist Hans Geiger, discovered the structure of an atom. He found that atoms had nuclei (a nucleus) and were circled by electrons, much as planets orbit the sun.

In 1939, by the time he was 28 years old, in May, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated film, reached a total international gross of $6.5 million which made it (to then) the most successful sound film of all time.
