His nationality was Lithuanian. He had 3 Children and 3 Grandchildren and a few great grandchildren. His last name was rightfully Jocius, changed somewhere along the lone. His Dad was named George Frank and his mom was Anna Julia Jugmanias not sure of correct spelling

In 1907, in the year that John Yots was born, the second Hague peace conference was called by Russia in the Netherlands. While nothing was settled regarding the matter of peace among nations, many resolutions were passed (and accepted by many nations) about the conventions of war - especially the protection of noncombatants.

In 1937, at the age of 30 years old, John was alive when on May 6th, the German zeppelin the Hindenburg caught fire and blew up. The Hindenburg was a passenger ship traveling to Frankfurt Germany. It tried to dock in New Jersey, one of the stops, and something went wrong - it blew up. Thirty-six people were killed out of the 97 on board - 13 passengers, 22 crewmen, and one ground worker. The reasons for the explosion are still disputed.
