Joseph Andrew Blundon was born on July 10, 1846 in Washington, District Of Columbia United States to John Alexander Blundon and Sarah Ellen (Allen) Blundon. He married Fannie Petronella Waters Blundon, and had children Joseph Paul Blundon, Joseph "Waters" Blundon, Marie Angela Blundon Witt, Carrie Lee Blundon Warren, and Mary Blundon Bomberger. Joseph Blundon died at age 63 years old on August 11, 1909 at Riverdale Park Oliver Street, in Riverdale Park, Prince George's County, MD, and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Washington, District of Columbia County, DC.

A photo of Joseph Andrew Blundon's house, "Oak Villa". Joseph was called one of the fathers of Riverdale Park, Maryland. He built this beautiful old house by the railroad tracks, where he was killed, ironically, by a train on August 11 1909. The house no longer stands. It was allowed to fall into ruin.

Joseph is named after his Grandfather, Joseph Andrew Blundon, who helped to build Riverdale Park, Maryland. Mr. Blundon senior was killed by a train on August 11 1909 in front of his house in Riverdale Park. Joseph's grandmother was named Fannie Waters Blundon.
