    Published Wed March 13, 1996 in The Los Angeles Times (Los Angeles, CA): DeSimone, Joseph Charles of Torrance: passed away March 11, 1996 in Redwood City California at the age of 74. Mr. DeSimone was employed by Utter-McKinley Mortuaries on June 1, 1941. His employment continued for over 50 years serving as Company President. Mr. DeSimone was active in numerous organizations including Elks Lodge 1919 since 1953. He was also a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Unico National, Villa Scalabrini Council, Building Committee of Casa Italiana; Honorary Kentucky Colonel of the Common-wealth of Kentucky. Mr. DeSimone served in the U.S. Army during World War II and during the Korean War, and was awarded a Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendant for Meritoris Service. Mr DeSimone is survived by his bride of 49 years, Josephine; two sons, Anthony J. DeSimone and Leon M. DeSimone and wife, Magdalena; one daughter, Bonnie M. Hickok and husband Allan; brothers, Louis and Frank DeSimone; two sisters, Stephanie Zito and Grace Leggio. Mr. DeSimone is also survived by six grandchildren: Christopher Lee and Virginia Loiuse DeSimone, Alisa Tony Peterson, Erin Marie, Cole Allan, and Mattie Lane Hickok. Vigil service will be recited on Wednesday March 13, at 7pm at Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary, 3801 W. Manchester Blvd.,Inglewood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 14, at 1pm at Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel, 5835 W. Slauson Ave,. Culver City. Private entombment will follow. Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary.
