His father Michael was born on October 20, 1893 in Reggio Calabria, Italy and immigrated to the US in 1899 where he lived in Jersey City, Hudson Co, NJ. He was working as a ship caulker for Theo Smith & Co and working to support his parents. He passed away in August of 1976 in Keyport, Monmouth Co, NJ.
