Joseph Charles Trigg of Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia was born on December 30, 1862 at Barrabool Hills in Ceres to John Gamby Trigg and Emma Bolden Trigg. He had siblings Sarah Trigg, Maria Trigg Brown, Frederick Trigg, Emily Emma Trigg Hyatt, Fanny Trigg, William James Trigg, Mary Ann (Trigg), Arthur John Trigg, and Albert Ernest Trigg. He married Bertha Ellen (Hunt) Trigg in 1889, and had children Winifred Louise Trigg, Clarice Emma Trigg, and Charles Harold Trigg. Joseph Trigg died at age 88 years old on January 1, 1951 in Geelong.

In 1862, in the year that Joseph Charles Trigg was born, British citizen Anna Leonowens, a widow, accepted a job in Siam (now Thailand) to teach the children and wives of the King of Siam - he had 39 wives and concubines and 82 children. Taking her son with her and sending her daughter to England for schooling, she taught in Siam for 6 years - until the King died.

The Chicago fire is the most well known of them because it left almost 100,000 people homeless. But the Peshtigo Fire killed around 2,500 people. The casualty count made it the deadliest fire in US history.
