  • Introduction

I found susan gonga on 23 and me, she is my second cousin by dna accounts. I found the 1940's census which included her father and the rest of there family. My mother was adopted in 1943 after her birth in chicago. I am trying to find the kin of joseph jr. because by all accounts he may be my grandfather. This could be someone else in the family since there is a 1 in 4 chance. I don't think it is arthur since I can not find any military records on him. The only way I can think he would be my grand father is he was in the military and we have the naval training base in north chicago. anyways I don't want to stur anything in the family, I am just looking for answers who was he, did he ever live in north chicago, Il. Does he have any children that sort of thin. it is possible he never new about my mother. anyways any information would be greatly appreciated.

Did you know?
In 1914, in the year that Joseph F Jr Baldocchi was born, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers. Anna Jarvis had championed a Mother's Day for years but Congress had joked a few years earlier that then they would have to proclaim a "Mother-in-law's Day" as well. The President who championed a woman's right to vote also created a day in their honor.
Did you know?
In 1930, on August 6th, N.Y. Supreme Court Judge Joseph Crater went through papers in his office, destroyed some of them, withdrew all his money from the bank - $5,150, sold his stock, met friends at a restaurant for dinner and disappeared after getting into a taxi (or walking down the street - his friends' testimony later changed). His disappearance was reported to the police on September 3rd - almost a month later. His wife didn't know what happened, his fellow Justices had no idea, and his mistresses (he had several) said that they didn't know. While his disappearance was front page news, his fate was never discovered and after 40 years the case was closed, still without knowing if Crater was dead or alive.
