He had siblings Michael, Anna Elizabeth, John Frank, Thomas Ted, George J, Anthony John, Josephine Mary, Clara Matilda, Helen, Pauline, and Robert Martin Stimac. He was born in Canada and at only a few months old, immigrated to Duluth, Minnesota, USA in August of 1920 with his family. He lived in Ironwood, Gogebic, Michigan, USA as a young child and later moved to Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA in 1930 where he would spend most of his life. Jospeh joined the US Military on Deb 24, 1942 and was married to Alice Sophie Stimac (1921-2005).
