Introduction

Joseph was born to Peter and Mary Elizabeth Abler Kronz in Germany. He immigrated with his family by ship, arriving in the New York Port in Nov. of 1855. The family traveled directly to Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin, where Peter was naturalized on Dec. 21, 1855. Joseph was naturalized on March 3, 1857 in Fond Du Lac Circuit Court. Joseph married Barbara Glockner on July 14, 1870 and they made their home on a farm in Marytown, Fond Du Lac Co. Four of their seven children were born there. The family moved to Outagamie County, about 30 miles away, and three more children were born on their farm in the area of Black Creek.
