Introduction

Born n Swatragh, Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1928 and now deceased. My father researched the Margey name back to the Spanish Armada . His research came to the conclusion the the Irish Margey surname was a derivation of Marquez and originated from Barcelona. Nothing else known. This could be feasible given the large number of Spanish sailors from the armada who made it to the shores of Ireland and settled there.
