Joseph Nadorlik was born on February 2, 1886 in Austria. He was in a relationship with Mary Yurko Nadorlik, and had children Thomas Nadorlik, Emma Jacqueline Nadorlik Horvat, Eleanor E. (Nadorlik) Nadzam, Mary Nadorlik Shultz, Margaret Nadorlik Mehalko, and Albert Nadorlik. Joseph Nadorlik died at age 69 years old on May 28, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania United States, and was buried at New St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.

In 1886, in the year that Joseph Nadorlik was born, on May 4th, a general strike began in Chicago. Workers were striking for an 8 hour workday and in protest of the killing - by police - of several workers the day before. When an unknown person threw a dynamite bomb, the strike became violent. Seven policemen were killed as well as 4 civilians. It became known as the Haymarket Riot and eventually resulted in an 8 hourwork day as well as commemorations on May 1st for worker's rights.

In 1902, he was 16 years old when the modern air conditioner was invented by Willis H. Carrier. The company that he worked for needed to find a way to control humidity and by solving this problem, Carrier created a system that could be used for cooling the rooms of a house. The Sun Belt thanks him!
