Joseph Tainton was born in 1850 to James Tainton and Ann (Drew) Tainton, and had siblings William Tainton, James Tainton, and George Tainton. He was in a relationship with Mary Jane (Course) Tainton, and had children William Richard Tainton and Joseph Charles Tainton. Joseph Tainton died at age 89 years old in 1939.
