  • Early Life & Education

I believe he graduated High-School; no college attended beyond any possible individual courses required by his employer at-the-time.
  • Religious Beliefs

Roman-Catholic, of 'St. James Parish' in St. Louis, MO, though I doubt he was truly devout in his practice of that faith. He liked playing poker and drinking, and wasn't above scamming even his own family-relations (the late Earl Wamack, amongst-others) for their pocket-money.
  • Military Service

Branch of service: Us Army Rank attained: TEC 5 Wars/Conflicts: World War II, Pacific-Theatre Reportedly he served in an Anti-Aircraft Gun-Battery, and unconfirmed myth has-it that his unit was the one who knocked "Washing-Machine Charlie" out of the air.
  • Professional Career

In early life he'd worked as a Lifeguard at the swimming-pool of 'Highlands Amusement-Park' in the area now encompassed by St. Louis Community College's 'Forest Park' Campus. Later, he worked as a dining-room server at one of the country-club/golf-course establishments in/around Wentzville, MO, and then was drafted for service during WWII. Following his service in the Pacific Theatre of that war, he worked for Benjamin Moore Paint in St. Louis, MO, until reaching his 30-Years' Retirement with that company. I'm told he worked in their Custodial/Maintenance department (they called 'em 'Janitors', back-then).

Did you know?
In 1913, in the year that Julius Paul Cerutti was born, Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile. It had previously taken 12 hours to assemble a whole vehicle - now it took only two hours and 30 minutes! Inspired by the production lines at flour mills, breweries, canneries and industrial bakeries, along with the disassembly of animal carcasses in Chicago’s meat-packing plants, Ford created moving belts for parts and the assembly line was born.
Did you know?
In 1922, Julius was just 9 years old when on James Joyce's 40th birthday, his book Ulysses was published in France. The book covers the experiences of an Irishman in Dublin on an ordinary day, 16 June 1904. Now considered a classic, it was controversial at the time. Due to some sexual content, the book was banned in the U.S. during the 1920's and the U.S. Post Office destroyed 500 copies of the novel.
