June Irene Ostrom 1923-2012 June Ostrom passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, with family nearby. June was born on June 23, 1923 in Aurora, Nebraska, the youngest of five children of Charles & Edna Stoddard. She moved to Boise at a young age. June married Edward Ostrom on June 2, 1946. They lived in Nyssa, Oregon, then moved to Boise where they lived for 62 years. They had two children, Katherine and Curtis. Edward preceded her in death on April 6, 2007. June worked in the business field while raising her family, retiring at age 62 from the State of Idaho Department of Education. She and Ed loved camping and fishing, most summers found them on their boat the "JUNEBUG" on Anderson Ranch Reservoir or on the Oregon Coast. They were members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and enjoyed the training and friendship this organization provided. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Earl, Earnest, DeWayne and Harold. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Dotson; her son, Curt (Lana) Ostrom; six grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; nephews Jim Ostrom and Gary (Ruth) Stoddard; and niece, Pat Cookingham. A family gathering will be held at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery where June and Ed will be joined together again. The family would like to invite all our family and friends to a celebration of June's life on Friday, June 8, 2012 beginning at 1:00 pm at her home, 703 Michael Street, Boise.
