Kate (Griffith) Briggs was born on September 14, 1884 in Dromana Australia to John Calvin Griffith and Mary (Dowling) Griffith, and had siblings George Harris Griffith, Albert John Griffith, Mary Jane Griffith, Lillian Griffith, Wilfred Reuban Griffith, Charles William Griffith, Evelyn May (Griffith) Shand, Florence (Griffith) Heffernan, Thomas Griffith, and John Calvin Griffith Jr. She married Walter John Briggs, and had children Merlyn Merle Florence (Briggs) Barns and Lyle Briggs. Kate Briggs died at age 93 years old on June 8, 1978, and was buried in June 1978 at Wodonga Cemetery in Wodonga.
