My dad was a very down to earth person. He loved spending time with his family, speaking to people about the bible and his hope for the future, and of course gardening. Dad always wanted me to love gardening as much as he did, however, I did not learn this love until after he was gone. Now I spend time planting flowers and vegetables and sharing pictures of all the beautiful things that I grow.
Dad loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each of them loved him and always had fun with him.
He has 6 grandchildren: Michele, Jason, Joseph, Alexandria, Katerina, and Lauren.
He also has 6 great grandchildren: Lily, Jack, Penny, Miles, Siiri, and Keiran.
Dad love to tell jokes, especially to kids since he was just a big kid himself.
He also had a passion for horses. He always wanted to be a cowboy. He owned two horses named Gypsie and Sandy.
In his early 70's, dad was able to take a trip home and meet his cousins and see the place of his beginnings. He had a lot of fun, met a lot of people and made a lot of memories.
The best memory make by far was when I surprised him with lunch with his brother Chris. It was a year before he passed away, I received a call from Uncle Chris to tell me he was visiting some friends in North Carolina and he wanted to see his brother. I made the arrangements and we met in New Bern. The tears were flowing when they saw each other and it was a wonderful visit that my uncle and I still speak of.
I will end here, but will add more stories as often as I can. I hope that someone out there is reading this story and enjoying it. I hope that my family will add more stories of their own.
